Overall Assessment:
Stone Forsythe is an athletic specimen who can move extremely well for a player his size. He is a well built tackle, who has an ideal height to weight ratio. He is a high IQ lineman who picks up stunts very well, and is able to recognize them very quickly off of the snap. His hands are always moving and his long arms give him the ability to reach out and utilize his hands at a high level. His punches are timed well off the snap, and are corresponding with his kick steps out of his set. Immediately off the snap, Forsythe is able to utilize the kick step very well, and his feet are very active. Due to his huge body, he has a wide frame that is very hard to penetrate through merely a bull rush. Forsythe usually maintains good hand placement, but could get a little high at times. The main issue with Forsythe is his tendencies to play high without enough bend on passing downs or running downs. He needs to bend much more, as he is caught upright several times on film. When Forsythe sees a pass rush move he isn’t necessarily accustomed to blocking, usually by a speedier rusher, he may become overaggressive and panic. This causes him to reach out, lose balance, stop his kick steps and ruin his body placement. His hips open up as a result, causing him to be chasing the rusher within the blink of an eye. Forsythe has technical issues he must clean up before they become bad habits, however he has all of the tools needed for a successful lineman. He possesses the intangible traits that offensive line coaches love working with.
