Adetomiwa Adebawore

Northwestern IDL

Games Watched: Nebraska, Wisconsin, Ohio State

Summary: Adetomiwa Adebawore is a shorter and denser edge player. He played as a 4-3 DE in college but a transition to 3-4 DE could serve his skillset better. When pass rushing from the interior his skills shined as he showed his burst off the snap, mobility on stunts, and his swim move against guards. In the run game he does a good job holding off his blocker and disengaging to tackle, although he could be disengaging sooner. He also has a good processor. One major drawback is that there might not be a clear positional fit given as he lacks the necessary flexibility to win off the edge, and the necessary strength to hold up on the interior. Another issue is that closing burst prevents him from finishing plays.

Pros

  • Great burst off of the snap
  • Good mobility to get around on stunts
  • Has a nice swim move
  • Has the strength to set the edge in the run game
  • Reads the field well and acts accordingly

Cons

  • Doesn’t have the bend to get pressure off the edge
  • Struggles against longer offensive lineman
  • Not quite strong enough to bullrush from the interior
  • Finishing ability could use improvement

Grade: Adetomiwa Adebawore gets a mid 2nd round grade. He can be a disruptive player, but there’s risk involved.
