Anton Harrison

Oklahoma OT

Games Watched: Nebraska, Kansas State, TCU

Summary: Anton Harrison is a left tackle who is a decent run and pass blocker. He is athletic enough to mirror pass rushers and beat them to the edge. He has a solid anchor and good pop in his punches which make him hard to beat in pass pro. Against the run he does a good job working his way to the second level and using his physicality. One weakness is that against the run his pad level can get too high. He also doesn’t gain depth quick enough in pass pro, and can have trouble recovering after he’s beat.

Pros

  • Has the lateral mobility and quickness to mirror pass rushers
  • Solid anchor in pass protection
  • Great physicality when run blocking
  • Punches are well timed and powerful
  • Good awareness to identify multiple pass rushers and find work

Cons

  • Not incredibly explosive out of his stance
  • Pad level can get a little high particularly on run plays
  • Can have trouble recovering after he’s beat, mostly due to improper footwork

Grade: Anton Harrison gets a mid 1st round grade. He may not have elite strength or quickness but he has minimal weaknesses, making him a solid pick.
