Bijan Robinson

Texas RB

Games Watched: Alabama, Kansas State, TCU

Summary: Bijan Robinson has the prototypical build for a very good running back in the NFL. He has good size, and moves well. He is a smart runner with good vision and patience, and he does a good job using his blockers and pressing the edge. He is very elusive and makes it tough to tackle him. In the pass game he is a good receiver and a willing blocker, although he doesn’t have the strength to hold up 1v1. His lack of power is also reflected in his average contact balance, and sometimes it’s clear he lacks the afterburners to finish big plays.

Pros

  • Decent speed and change of direction ability
  • Frequently avoids hands trying to trip up his legs
  • Phenomenal vision to find the smallest of holes
  • Is patient when he needs to be
  • Presses the edge and shifts inside
  • Naturally catches the ball in stride and turns up field

Cons

  • Doesn’t have the second gear to finish long runs ford TDs
  • Average contact balance
  • Doesn’t have the strength to hold up as a 1v1 pass blocker

Grade: Bijan Robinson gets a late first round grade. He does a lot of things at a very high level but, like most RBs, will not be able to overcome a bad offensive line.
