Dalton Kincaid

Utah TE

Games Watched: Florida, USC (reg), Oregon

Summary: Dalton Kincaid is a primarily receiving tight end who will be a solid blocker as well. He has good play speed and moves smoothly. He has fantastic ball skills allowing him to make a lot of tough catches. He’s also dangerous after the catch because of his phenomenal contact balance and awareness of defender positioning. As a smaller tight end he is sometimes outmuscled as a blocker and his hand positioning could use work. He is an adequate run blocker but a below average pass blocker.

Pros

  • Moves well for a tight end
  • Gets his body turned quickly
  • Very good ball tracking skills
  • Positions his body well
  • Has strong hands that finish tough catches outside of his body frame
  • Great contact balance and speed in the open field
  • Has a feel for where defenders will be right after he catches the ball

Cons

  • On the smaller end for a tight end
  • Not the savviest route runner
  • Often gets his hands too high on the defenders shoulder pads when he’s blocking
  • Easily uprooted by stronger defenders

Grade: Dalton Kincaid gets a late first round grade. He is a phenomenal receiver and is a serviceable enough blocker to be a great tight end.
