Felix Anudike-Uzomah
Kansas State EDGE
Games Watched: Texas Tech, TCU (CCG), Alabama
Summary: Felix Anudike-Uzomah will play best in a system where he is able to rush from the outside, most preferably as a 5-T in a 4-3. He has an explosive first step, although some of that ability is neutralized by his tendency to react late to the snap. He has great hand usage, keeping his body clean and countering linemen to get to the quarterback. He can beat tackles with speed off the edge as well as a bull rush through them. His strength isn’t as effective in the run game, where he often lost at the point of attack. He’s also slow to see plays in the run game develop leading to poor tackle attempts.
Pros
- Explosive first step allows him to gain depth quickly
- Active with his hands keep his body relatively clean
- Has a variety of pass rush counters that he comes into his rushes prepared to use
- Good flexibility to win off of the edge
- Stronger than his weight indicates, getting great drive on his bullrush
Cons
- Late off the snap too often
- Often lost leverage battles at the point of attack in the run game
- Slow to see the run game develop, leading to him taking bad pursuit angles
Grade: Felix Anudike-Uzomah gets a mid 2nd round grade. He’s a solid athlete and technically developed player, but his ceiling as a prospect is capped.
