Keeanu Benton
Wisconsin IDL
Games Watched: Ohio State, Michigan State, Nebraska
Summary: Keeanu Benton fits best a 4-3 DT who can play both 1-T and 3-T. He has a stout and powerful build along with long arms which he uses to make first contact. He is big enough to handle double teams, and his hands have a lot of pop when they make contact. He shows flashes of being a good pass rusher, especially when using his club move. On the downside he often gets pushed around when his pad level gets too high, and he isn’t very explosive off the snap. He also has trouble disengaging to make tackles at times.
Pros
- Has a strong base and very long arms
- Has the strength to handle double teams
- Gets good power on his punches
- Has an effective club move he uses consistently
Cons
- Often plays with too high of a pad level
- Not incredibly quick off of the snap
- Sometimes struggles to disengage and finish tackles
Grade: Keeanu Benton gets a mid 2nd round grade. He has the size to be a solid run defender with potential as a pass rusher too.
