Nathaniel Dell

Houston WR

Games Watched: UTSA, Tulane, SMU

Summary: Nathaniel Dell is an undersized but quick receiver. He has the speed to beat defenders downfield and also changes direction quickly to get open on short passes. He plays the ball well and creates yards after the catch. Size issues however, lead to physical defenders bullying him, and he also isn’t incredibly nuanced as a route runner.

Pros

  • Has the speed to get behind defenders deep
  • Great change of direction skills
  • Controls his body to adjust for passes in the air well
  • Good ball tracking ability
  • Makes people miss after the catch

Cons

  • Release package needs work
  • Doesn’t commit his body to fakes when running routes
  • Pushed around by bigger defenders
  • Has decent speed and change of direction ability but isn’t exceptional at any one thing

Grade: Nathaniel Dell gets a 4th round grade. He’ll be a solid contributor to an offense, but he’s more of a solid WR3 than a WR1.
