Rashee Rice

SMU WR

Games Watched: Cincinnati, Houston, Tulane

Summary: Rashee Rice is a receiver who moves well for his size. He not only has speed to beat defenders deep, but also has decent change of direction skills. He is a good route runner and does a lot of things well technically. He can create separation, but too often he doesn’t attack the ball and drops catchable passes. Other times he’ll try to play too fast leading to him being out of control.

Pros

  • Good movement skills
  • Has the speed to get behind defenders
  • Body feints well to create separation
  • Great at legally hand fighting with defenders
  • Positions his body well
  • Often one of the first players to react to the snap

Cons

  • Often plays too fast and out of control
  • Does not vary his release package
  • Terrible drop issues
  • Does not attack the ball in the air

Grade: Rashee Rice gets a 4th round grade. He has potential, but there are a lot of things coaches would need to fix to get him to unlock this potential.
