Tucker Kraft
South Dakota State TE
Games Watched: Colorado State (2021), Northern Illinois, Illinois State
Summary: South Dakota State’s Tucker Kraft didn’t face the highest level of competition in college but he flashed his potential. He’s a great athlete which allows him to adjust his body to make catches, as well as get yards after the catch. He’s strong too which allows him to win as a blocker. The pitfalls with Kraft are that he’s not technically sound. He’s an average at best route runner, he has concentration drops, and he plays with too high of a pad level. These issues will have to be resolved if he wants to play in the NFL.
Pros
- Moves very well for his size
- Has good body control during his route
- Can be dangerous after the catch
- Places his hands well as a blocker
- Has great strength to win at the point of attack
Cons
- Nothing special as a route runner
- Has had concentration drops
- Beaten by defenders who don’t immediately engage and use finesse moves to beat him
- Needs to improve his pad level
Grade: Tucker Kraft gets a late 3rd round grade. He has athletic ability but without technical refinement there are doubts as to whether his skillset will transfer to the NFL.
