Tyler Scott
Cincinnati WR
Games Watched: Arkansas, Indiana, UCF
Summary: Tyler Scott has the speed and agility to be a good #2 WR in the NFL. He has the speed and quickness to separate from defenders, and he does a good job timing his cuts to create as much separation as possible. He tracks the ball well and is dangerous after the catch given his RB background. Scott is however, a smaller receiver who’s size affects his ability to handle physicality and make contested catches. Scott also needs to clean up his route running and catching technique.
Pros
- Good acceleration and long speed to win deep
- Moves smoothly and cuts suddenly
- Attacks the blindspot of defenders well, timing his cuts perfectly
- Does a good job tracking the ball and attacking it at the catch point
- Always a threat after the catch
Cons
- On the smaller end which causes concerns against bigger and stronger corners
- Not the most nuanced route runner who has the finer aspects of his game nailed down
- Does have some drop issues, catching technique might need work
Grade: Tyler Scott gets an early 3rd round grade. There isn’t much of a ceiling with Scott but he all the tools to be a nice #2 receiver.
