Wanya Morris
Oklahoma OT
Games Watched: Kansas State, TCU
Summary: Wanya Morris played right tackle at Oklahoma and slots in to do the same in the NFL. He has incredibly long arms and he does a good job using them to make first contact. When he is beaten he is athletic enough to readjust, and in the run game he does a good job winning at the point of attack and finding defenders downfield. His play is very inconsistent however, and he has bad habits of lunging and playing with his head leaving him susceptible to counters. He also needs to work on his punch placement, and footwork trying to sustain blocks.
Pros
- Has long arms that he utilizes well
- Does a decent job of readjusting his weight to recover when beaten
- Good strength to win at the point of attack in the run game
- Has the ability to connect with defenders at the second level in the run game
Cons
- Lunges forward way too often allowing counter moves to easily beat him
- Plays with his head down giving him limited field vision
- Struggle to sustain blocks for long periods of time in the run game
- Punches are often too high and don’t disrupt pass rushers as much as they should
Grade: Wanya Morris gets a late 3rd round grade. He’s a decent athlete who will be a serviceable starter with technique tweaks.
