One Liner: Pass blocking offensive tackle who wins with high level technique, football IQ, and functional strength.

Strengths:

  • Elite technique. Harrison is an adept pass blocking tackle who times punches correctly and kick steps out of pass sets with textbook technique. Hand placement and body positioning are consistent in both pass and run game
  • Very good football IQ. Harrison understands where to be and finds work in the run game or in screens.
  • Good strength. Harrison is able to seal off opponents in the run game and uses upper body strength to deter opposing rushers running the arc in pass blocking sets.

Weaknesses:

  • Marginal athletic ability. Harrison is an extremely stiff mover in space and his lack of lateral mobility especially hurts him in diagonal pass sets when blocking speed rushers, preventing him from recovering when beaten.
  • Adequate aggressiveness. Harrison isn’t extremely powerful or aggressive in the passing or running game and isn’t particularly explosive at the POA.

Overall Assessment: Anton Harrison is a technically sound pass blocker who did a great job against some of the best pass rushing prospects entering this year’s draft. He is a knowledgeable blocker that understands body positioning, timing and hand placement, making him a projectable tackle at the next level. However, I have concerns with Harrison’s stiffness and lack of athleticism – specifically his lateral mobility – at the next level, where he will face speed rushers consistently. With his frame, I wouldn’t oppose a move to guard, where he could potentially thrive.

Scheme Fit: Best in a man blocking scheme for now with limited vertical passing sets

Pick Projection: Early 2nd
