Felix Anudike Uzomah

Pos: EDGE

School: Kansas State

Ht. 6’3″

Wt. 255

Games Watched: Oklahoma, Kansas, West Virginia, Texas, Missouri

One Liner: Fiery, aggressive rusher who wins with excellent burst, strong hands and solid rush moves

Strengths:

  • Very good first step. Uzomah wins with a fiery start of the line and that jolts him into the rusher with his 33 inch arms and strong hands and puts him in a position to flatten and turn the corner.
  • Very good hands. Uzomah has strong hands and a chiseled upper body that allows him to jolt blockers back with shock and good timing.
  • Very good rush moves. For a player in his career, Uzomah has a surprisingly deep bag of tricks, including a go-to bull rush, swim, as well as a rip.
  • Good upper body strength. Because of his first step and ability to create speed to power movements, Uzomah is an effective bull rusher and can win with leverage on poorly positioned tackles.

Weaknesses:

  • Adequate technique at the point of attack. Uzomah just tries to wear off the initial burst to win against tackles but sometimes this stalls, leaving him stuck on blockers once engaged
  • Adequate lower body strength. Uzomah lacks some drive in his legs that really allow him to work on the tackles in the run game or anchor when needed.

Overall Assessment: Felix Anudike-Uzomah is an impressive EDGE who still has room to grow and develop his game. As of now, he wins with great motor and burst off the line, along with consistent aggression throughout his rush. With good coaching and some more strength to his frame, Uzomah can be a consistent every down player. As of right now he is best suited to be a late down rush specialist, who can trickle in on early downs to set the edge with his strength.
