Peter Skoronski
Pos: IOL
School: Northwestern
Ht. 6’4″
Wt. 315
Games Watched: Nebraska, Penn State, Duke
One Liner: Polished offensive lineman who wins with strength, athleticism, and technique
Strengths:
- Elite technique. Skoronski plays with great technique. He uses his feet well and wastes little to no steps, and has no issues moving laterally or moving up the field at the second level. In terms of upper body, Skoronski plays with good pad level and is a good knee bender while maintaining great hand placement and usage whenever he gets his hands on opposing rushers chests.
- Very good toughness. Skoronski is a tough player, who makes his presence felt in the run game with dominating blocks in space and neutralizing efforts at the line of scrimmage, regardless of scheme. He brings a physical mindset to his blocks and packs a great punch with powerful arms and dominating aggression to seal off gaps.
- Very good functional strength. Skoronski plays with great arm strength, and has the core strength to sustain blocks from start to finish. He brings great leg drive to the table, and displays a really good anchor that allows him to hold up against all sizes of rushers.
- Very good athlete. Skoronski is a good mover in space, and has the agility to kick outside and swing or move downfield and find work. He displays above average range, and is not stiff at all for an interior offensive lineman.
Weaknesses:
- Adequate size. The primary concern with Skoronski is that he has below average arm length which limits what he may be able to do at the next level. Obviously, a switch to guard would be in his best interests, but I still think this has a chance to hold him back, especially against longer armed defensive lineman that can get their hands up into Skoronski’s chest and work into a finesse move.
Overall Assessment: Peter Skoronski is a clean, polished interior offensive lineman that is a plug and play starter who looks like he can be a long term Pro Bowler in any scheme as an interior offensive lineman. Skoronski has elite technique for a college lineman, and is very good physical blocker with great strength and athleticism as well. He is as clean of a prospect you can find this year, and he will check off most boxes for teams who need a plug and play starter on their interior. Skoronski could find some trouble in reps against longer armed defensive lineman who find their way into his chest, but with his technique and quickness, I don’t think this is a major concern for Skoronski.
