One Liner: Strong and tough QB who wins arm talent, size and competitive toughness.

Strengths:

  • Elite arm talent. Levis is capable of making any throw at any level of the field with his velocity and arm strength. Effortless throwing the ball 50+ yards downfield.
  • Very good toughness. Levis endured a lot of duress in and out of the pocket in his two years at Kentucky, and stood tall through a ton of hits. Not afraid to put his body on the line to fight for points and yards.
  • Very good frame. Levis has a prototypical frame for an NFL QB and moves well for a player at his stature.
  • Good ability to throw on the run. Levis keeps his eyes downfield when on the move and is able to leave the defense on their toes with running ability or throwing it downfield.

Weaknesses:

  • Poor decision making. Rather than his accuracy, I think Levis needs to make better decisions on the field. Whether it be running into defenders and not sliding, or throwing the ball in nonexistent windows, Levis needs to be smarter with the football and stop forcing things.
  • Marginal footwork. Levis lacks hip drive on his throws and it seems like he really is solely relying on his cannon of an arm to make throws, which causes overthrows and air-mailed passes.
  • Adequate touch. Levis can throw heaters, but he needs to develop touch and know when to add some air to some of his passes.

Overall Assessment: Levis is a tough player who does take a lot of undeserved heat, whether it was playing with poor blocking and weapons and being injured throughout his 2022 year. Levis is a highly projectable QB at the next level due to his traits and high character. Playing in an NFL style offense for the past 2 years definitely helps with this transition. He should look to improve his technique and take what is given to him on the field without trying to play hero ball.
